Void Fields in Risk of Rain 2: how to get there, step by step

// what it is

What it is.

The Void Fields are a hidden stage you can only enter from the Bazaar Between Time, once per run. There is no teleporter: there are 9 cells to charge inside a fog that drains your health, and every charged cell lets you pick an item. Clearing them unlocks Acrid.

// what you need

What you need.

Reaching the Bazaar: 1 Lunar Coin at a Newt Altar before the teleporter is done.
Health and healing to survive the fog between cells. Going early in the run is easier: difficulty keeps rising inside.

// step by step

Step by step.

Enter the Bazaar through the Blue Portal (how, in the Bazaar route).

Walk down the path under the arrival portal: the Void Portal is in the cave (the game calls it Null Portal). It works once per run.

Stand inside a cell: each one charges in 1 minute while you are inside. Outside the cell, the fog drains your health.

Pick 1 of 3 items when each cell charges: common in the first 4, uncommon in 5 to 8 and a legendary in the 9th. Normal items, not void items.

Charge all 9: in even cells the enemies also gain items, so they hit harder each time.

Leave: the exit is always open and you can go whenever you want. After the 9 cells a Void Portal to the Void Locus also appears, the way to the Planetarium.

// what you get

What you get.

Acrid, the «...To Be Left Alone» challenge: 40.6% of Steam players have it.
Up to 9 chosen items (4 white, 4 green and 1 red) without spending gold.
A Void Portal to the Void Locus, if you are going for the Planetarium.

// watch out

Watch out.

There are no void items (the purple ones) here: those come from Void Cradle (they cost half your health) and are everywhere in the Void Locus. The Void Fields give normal items.
Time does not stop: every minute inside raises the difficulty of the rest of the run.
On stage 5, leaving the Void Fields sends you back to stage 1 (the loop).

// faq

FAQ.

How do you enter the Void Fields?

From the Bazaar Between Time: under the arrival blue portal a path leads down to a cave with the Void Portal. Only once per run.

Do you have to charge all 9 cells to unlock Acrid?

Yes: the challenge asks you to clear the whole Void Fields. You can leave earlier, but then it does not count.

Do the Void Fields give void items?

No. Each cell offers a choice of 3 normal items (white, green and one red). Void items come from Void Cradles and the Void Locus.
