What it is.

The Gilded Coast is a hidden stage where Aurelionite, a giant golden golem, lives. You enter through the Gold Portal, opened by the Altar of Gold. Time stops inside, but you need gold: everything is paid for.

200 gold for the Altar of Gold (first-stage price: it rises with time and difficulty). It never appears on stage 1.
Spare gold for the beacons: 25 each, and you pay again for the ones that go out.
Enough damage for a boss with a lot of health.

Step by step.

Find the Altar of Gold on a stage from stage 2 onwards: a golden altar, sometimes hidden.

Pay it before the teleporter is done: 200 gold on the first stage where it can appear; later it costs more.

Finish the teleporter: the Gold Portal appears next to it. Go in.

Pay the beacons: there are 7, at 25 gold each. Lighting the fourth spawns Aurelionite.

Keep the beacons lit: Aurelionite takes no damage while any beacon is off, and the beacons go out over time. Pay them again while you hit it.

Beat it: every player gets a Halcyon Seed. Leave through the portal to the next stage.

The Halcyon Seed, a boss item: with it, Aurelionite appears and fights on your side at every teleporter.
Time with the clock stopped: difficulty does not rise inside the Gilded Coast.

Watch out.

Bring spare gold: the beacons go out and have to be paid again. Without gold, Aurelionite cannot be hurt.
With Seekers of the Storm, the Halcyon Shrine can also open a Gold Portal: once you have used a Green Portal in the run, later ones give a gold one, and on stages 4 and 5 always.

How much does the Altar of Gold cost?

200 gold on the first stage where it can appear (never on stage 1). Like everything in the game, the price rises with time and difficulty.

Why can't I damage Aurelionite?

Because a beacon is off. It takes no damage unless all 7 are lit; they go out over time and have to be paid again (25 gold each).

What does Aurelionite drop?
